Clinical nutrition specialist, DR Dr Samuel Oetoro, MS, SpGK said that vermicelli has nutritional levels that are no less important.

“Vermicelli is included in the list of foods that are full of carbohydrates. It is said that 90 percent of vermicelli content is carbohydrates, the rest is vitamins A and B. All the vitamins are in rice,” he said on tvOne’s LET’S LIVE HEALTHY (AHS) broadcast, Wednesday, September 5 2018. He further explained the facts regarding the consumption of vermicelli.

Consuming vermicelli is better than rice, won’t it make you fat?

“Fact. As long as the portions are controlled. For example, make vermicelli a staple food, not a side dish. Remember, vermicelli is also a carb. Moreover, consuming vermicelli with rice is double the carb.”

“Fact. But corn vermicelli consumes more calories than rice vermicelli. Apart from that, corn vermicelli is also rich in fiber which the body needs.”
